Adjustment & Life Transitions

We understand that change can be hard, even when welcome, so we help you navigate life’s shifts with clarity, resilience, and support.

What is an Adjustment Disorder?

Everyone goes through adjustments and life transitions every day. Every change or transition in life is accompanied by emotions of all shapes and sizes, and all of them are okay.

Whether it's excitement for a new promotion opportunity paired with the loss of relationships with current co-workers, grief over the loss of a loved one paired with gratitude they are no longer suffering, or processing the memories associated with moving to another state, a variety of emotions will naturally arise.

An Adjustment Disorder can manifest when someone is unable to process and cope with the range of emotions associated with a change that causes distress. Anxious or depressed moods and symptoms, as well as some disturbances in our behaviors or relationships present. These symptoms tend to resolve once the initial stressor is eliminated, and/or a new coping method is successfully implemented to manage the symptoms.
